Why Body Weight Workouts Rock

I've been hitting the Turbulence Training Intermediate Workout for the last couple of weeks - and it rocks!  It's been a while since I've done a mostly body weight workout like this - I've lost about three pounds of fat in two weeks (and honestly, I haven't really changed my diet much at all), my core strength and mobility has
noticeably improved, and I just feel like I'm getting in a lot better shape.

Without giving away too many details about the program, the Turbulence Training Intermediate workout is where Craig Ballentyne suggests you start out, no matter what your fitness level is.  On paper, it looks pretty easy.  But when you get in the gym - especially when you've been doing a body-part split workout like I have for the last couple of months - the workout just toasts you.  A workout that uses mostly your own body weight and that is performed in the signature, circuit-style, 'Turbulence Training' fashion is killer because you end up expending so much energy and burning so many more calories.

I've also been running for the cardio intervals that are suggested, and I think that's a great thing.  Getting outside is always so much more enjoyable than sitting inside on a crappy treadmill or eliptical, especially when the weather is nice.

That's it for today - just a quick update on what's been working for my own personal workouts lately.

P.S. If you want to give one of these workouts a go, click here to see my review of the full Turbulence Training program.  You can also test out the entire Turbulence Training program for $4.95 by clicking here:
